AI Cameras for Live Events
Sony BRC-AM7 Case Study with Sony Professional Europe
gassProductions partnered with Sony Professional Europe to produce an official promotional film demonstrating how AI cameras for live events perform in real-world corporate production.
Using the Sony BRC-AM7, we built a compact, AI-assisted multi-camera workflow that reduced crew, improved reliability and delivered broadcast-grade results under pressure.
This production also helped inform improvements later introduced in Sony’s firmware updates.

Production Overview – AI cameras for live events in action
The event was Goldwell’s Celebration of Color, hosted at Exhibition White City. The AV supplier for the event was Vibration Production.
It’s a fast-moving runway show with dramatic lighting, constant movement and no second takes.
In other words, the perfect environment to test AI cameras for live events.
We deployed:
-
5 × Sony BRC-AM7 PTZ cameras
-
2 × operators
-
Live vision mixing
-
Redundant recording
Instead of one operator per camera, AI tracking handled the mechanics. Operators focused on composition and storytelling.
This is the workflow we regularly use across our live event services
Why AI cameras for live events matter
Traditional camera setups require large crews and heavy footprints.
AI PTZ systems change that.
Fewer operators
One operator can confidently manage multiple cameras.
Faster setup
Compact PTZ placement reduces rigging time and floor clutter.
Consistent framing
AI Auto-Framing keeps subjects centred without constant manual control.
More usable space
Smaller cameras mean more room for staging or seating.
For corporate clients, that translates directly into efficiency and cost savings.
Sony BRC-AM7 performance on the day
Reliable tracking
Subjects stayed framed during long runway walks and quick turns.
Strong colour science
Accurate skin tones and vibrant colour reproduction were critical for this brand-led event.
Compact deployment
Less kit on the floor meant a cleaner stage and better audience layout.
Put simply, the system delivered broadcast-quality results with fewer resources.
Lessons that influenced future firmware updates
We did not use the later firmware updates on this show. However, the production generated valuable operator feedback around:
-
Optical Image Stabilisation
-
Pan, Tilt Zoom Speed Adjustment (during auto framing)
-
Tracking range overlay
-
Improved preset functions
Many of these improvements later appeared in Sony firmware releases announced at Integrated Systems Europe 2026.
That’s why we value working closely with manufacturers. Real-world shows shape better tools.
Promotional Film Deliverables
Sony commissioned a dedicated case study film that showed:
-
AI cameras working live on stage
-
operators managing multiple cameras
-
Auto-Framing in action
-
compact production footprint
-
final broadcast output quality
The content is now used globally across Sony’s marketing and sales channels.
Final Outcome
-
5 AI PTZ cameras deployed
-
2 operators running full coverage
-
Reduced crew requirements
-
Faster setup
-
Broadcast-grade image quality
-
Efficient workflow for corporate events
The takeaway is simple.
AI cameras for live events don’t replace operators. They amplify them.
